The 1938 Gill Starnes Gin at Cotton Center remains idle here in the 21st century exhibiting remnants of past operations. The first Gill Starnes Gin burned in January 1938 before being quickly rebuilt later that year. The facility's brick burr burner remains a sentinel in the gin's yard.
